Some people dread the thought of reading, let alone taking an online dyslexia test. Here’s why, if you think you’re dyslexic, taking an online test could be beneficial to you…
The QS dyslexia test was originally designed for post GCSE students and is being used by university and college students and adults in employment or looking for work.
Our tests go over a range of skills including sequencing, memory capacity, speed of processing and more. One of the test items includes a reading passage and short dictation.
The reading passage is pitched at an A* to C grade GCSE level, so it is suitable for students of 17+ and adults.
It is therefore quite challenging for anybody who has not attained a GCSE in English or whose first language is not English.
However, that does not mean you should avoid doing it. If your reading or spelling level is below GCSE standard, then be prepared for the fact that you may find it quite difficult to do. But it also may be worth the effort if you want a good indication of your current skills level. It will show you where you are in relation to the above standard in English.
If you do decide to give it a try – then complete as much as you can. If you don’t know the spelling of a word, you can type it in the best way you know. The more information you provide the more your results will be of help and relevance.
Even if you mis-spell many of the words, the test analysis will still be able to give you a detailed result of your performance. Whilst there are some harder words to spell, at least two thirds of the content is made up of words that you will find quite easy to spell.
Although this task may take you a longer time to complete, you will get more of a return in your report at the end.
Why not take the QS Dyslexia Test to find out if you’re showing signs of dyslexia? The test will take you around 1 hour to complete and you’ll receive a report at the end with recommendations for skills improvement and ways to have your difficulties accommodated.
